Professor Shelley Arnott is a freshwater ecologist whose research spans fundamental to applied outcomes. She uses field and laboratory experiments, synoptic lake surveys, and analyses of long-term data to understand environmental change in aquatic ecosystems.

Her work examines environmental stressors including road salt application, climate change, nutrient enrichment, and invasive species. She collaborates extensively with government, university, and NGO researchers.
